Getting around
Porto Santo is a small island and you will have no difficulty getting around. You will be able to walk to most places from the apartment, including the beach (5 minutes), Zarco Shopping mall (2 mins), and a Bank with an ATM (2 mins). Several bars, restaurants and take-aways are within 10 minutes walk.
The tennis club is a five minute walk from the apartments, and the golf club is either a 20 minute walk, or a 5 minute drive away.
Taxis are readily available. There are taxi ranks at the filling station in Vila Baleira, and also at the Zarco Shopping mall and the airport.
Car hire is available from several desks at the airport.
Two bicycles will be included in your rental, and additional bicycle and quad-bike hire is available in Vila Baleira.
There is also a regular public bus service, including island tours, with stops adjacent to Zarco Shopping.
Jeep safaris can be booked through local travel agents.
There is a dispensing chemist and a small hospital/health centre in Vila Baleira.
